*updated twice: These Federal MPs are spending money on companies that work with ICE
Almost $300 thousand to Jim Pattison, and tens of thousands more to Hootsuite and Garda world. Here are the MPs have spent public money on companies now associating with ICE
*Update 1: One MP, Heather McPherson, has replied. The reply is below.
*Update 2: Jim Pattison, due to mass pressure from the media and from the public has decided not to sell his warehouse to ice. Keep this in mind if you read this article, as the situation has radically changed.
Federal MPs, some of whom are no longer in office, paid $298,173 to Jim Pattison’s corporations for various reasons during fiscal 2024 and 2025, as well as tens of thousands more to both Hootsuite and Garda World– both of which work with ICE.
Many of these expenses occurred during 2025 when the ICE operation had already become much more violent and extreme.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), has shot and killed 2 individuals in Minnesota, shot and killed another man, Keith Porter, in LA and seen 6 die in custody since the beginning of 2026. It is interested in purchasing a building from Jim Pattison. Pattison and the Jim Pattison Group (JPG), his business conglomerate, have not responded to questions about ICE purchasing his facility.
Here are the MPs who spent money on JPG, and the totals they spent.
Aedan has also broken down their expenditures to JPG by individual purchase. The table is fully searchable.
We have reached out to all of these MPs for comment. None have replied. If they reply, we will update with their comments below.
Hootsuite, a social media management application, has a contract with ICE as well. The CEO has defended this contract and intends to continue working with them regardless of ICE’s actions. Six MPs worked with Hootsuite in 2024-2025. One of them is no longer in Parliament.
We have reached out to all these MPs for comment. None have replied.
Finally, Garda World has standing contracts with ICE, with a $138 million dollar contract to expand detention capacity for the American agency. Six MPs have hired out to them. Only three are still in office.
We have reached out to all of them for comment. None have replied.
ICE has been aggressively deporting people since the Bush administration, and hundreds have died in their custody. In 2025, 32 people died in ICE custody, and recently the killing of both Renée Good and Alex Pretti have led to international backlash, and a falling out from within the Republican party. The Rover has reported extensively on the Canadian companies associated with them.
Why so many companies that are working with ICE have ties with elected officials is as of yet unclear, although many MPs may not have realized what ICE was doing, or the work that the company was doing. When an MP replies to our questions, we will post it.
48 hours after reaching out, only one MP has replied, Heather McPherson, who replied to a reader’s email. She said,
“When the Sergeant at Arms office installed the security system in the constituency office, it was not with GardaWorld. But GardaWorld ended up buying the security provider. We were unaware of this.
Heather was shocked to learn that GardaWorld had taken over the contract and has requested the Sergeant at Arms office to cancel the contract with GardaWorld and to change our security systems to another provider as soon as possible.”
She also sent a letter to the Prime Minister demanding all contracts with Garda World be cancelled.

Excellent work, ty for this.
